about

This dates back to 1984... or thereabouts... A sax riff that came out of a busking session in the underpass under Hampstead Road. Jim put the words to the riff and it became a Ring of Roses song.

lyrics

I can see life’s traces
Dance across my wall
Some old familiar faces
I recognise them all

Maybe I am dreaming
Slipping through my mind
Reviewing and rescreening all
The times I left behind

There are voices in my hallway
Calling out my name
Shadows in my doorway
Playing silly games

Maybe I am dreaming…

Confronted by confusion
And feeling that the dawn
Maybe one more illusion
Just waiting to be born

Maybe I am dreaming…
